Apple just released iOS 16.0.2 and it’s a quick but timely update. Here’s everything you need to know.

When Apple released iOS 16, it became clear that updates were needed. iPhone 14 users got an unprecedented early follow-up, but it wasn’t enough.

This is because some users reported iPhone 14 Pro camera issues, such as when taking photos with third-party apps like TikTok or Instagram. The most serious ones were camera vibration (which isn’t good if you want your hardware to stay intact) and blurry photos.

And then there was another problem: copying and pasting between apps can result in a frankly very annoying pop-up asking for permission to paste. Just when you didn’t need it. Now iOS 16.0.2 is here to solve these problems.

Which iPhones can run iOS 16.0.2?

Although iOS 16 runs on all iPhones starting with the iPhone 8, this update is mainly for the iPhone 14 series and the serious issues that have occurred. But it’s not just for phones: iPhone problems have been fixed since the iPhone X.

How to get it

Updating is very simple: open the Settings app on your device, then select General, then Software Update. Once you click Download and Install, it will do everything for you. This is a minor update and will download quickly. On the iPhone 14 Pro Max, it downloaded in about seven minutes and installed in another 12 minutes.

What’s in the release

Corrections have been made. Apple says it will fix the issue of vibrating lenses and blurry photos on the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.

If you found that the screen turns black while setting up your device, this update is for you. And if you’ve had the hugely annoying never-ending permission requests when copying and pasting between apps, this update is for you.

VoiceOver disappeared after a reboot for some users, so hopefully that’s fixed here.

And this update is here to fix the issue where touch input was not responding on some iPhone X, iPhone XR and iPhone 11 screens. This has happened due to certain circumstances, especially after the device has been serviced.

Apple’s full notes are below:

This update provides bug fixes and important security updates for your iPhone, including:

· When taking photos with some third-party apps on iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, the camera may vibrate and produce blurry photos.

· During device setup, the screen may be completely black

· Copying and pasting between apps may result in more permission prompts than expected

· VoiceOver may not be available after restarting

· Fixes an issue where touch input became unresponsive on some iPhone X, iPhone XR, and iPhone 11 screens after maintenance
